The unknowingness of this movie is so amazing in the way it was shown from beginning of trying to teach Murphy different scientific concepts as well as learning how to “figure it out” or “admit what we don’t know” also with Tom being denied education as well as us being denied with immediate answers to the ending. The beauty of the reasoning with coopers very evident reasoning to get his children an earth they which will be habitable it’s really a bringing down to earth concept with a very complex showing of such. The complete realism of the physics throughout the entire movie was also astonishing especially with such a difficult yet simple concept of time. 5/5

I have seen this a bunch of times but it never ceases to amaze me. The moment they get back from the water planet and the black guy on board tells them it’s been 23 years…my jaw just hit the floor. I don’t understand relativity and all that but to think that the ticking sound was one day passing with every tick and 7 years for every hour scared me for them. I was yellimg at the screen saying HURRY UP! His daughter is going to die if you dont hurry. Everyone will die. It is just awe-inspiring.

‘Interstellar’ is my favorite Matt McConaughey film – amazing ensemble, compelling story, powerful script, stirring music, fine direction, two profound and contrasting father-daughter stories. ‘Murph’ is a glorious human, played successively by three transcendent actors. (Extra credit for ‘masking up’ six years before CoViD-19 and exceptional AI and robotic ‘characters’.) This is not fiction – it’s anticipation and revelation, painless quantum physics and cosmology. Somewhat morbid cameos from Dylan Thomas and Matt Damon. And deep fun.

I hadn’t watched this movie since it came out and I had forgotten how grandly awe-inspiring and deeply personal the feelings this movie evoked. I’m very glad I did and was able re-experience that, its too bad I remembered how it ended. What an unbelievable story Christopher Nolan made.

First time watching this, alone in my bedroom started around 11:20 pm went all the way to 2 am. I’m almost speechless- the least I can say is if you’re debating whether to rent the movie or not, rent it. This movie is actually so wholesome and flat-out the most entertaining 2 hours of my 2021 so far. I really can’t say anything else, I want to spoil parts of the movie. One thing I will say is that I never cried. I swelled up at very specific parts (that you will too) but the movie will definitely make you feel emotions that you thought couldn’t be achieved from a screen and speaker.

Just wanted to share this beautiful quote from the Baha’i writings:
"Know thou of a certainty that Love is the secret of God’s holy Dispensation, the manifestation of the All-Merciful, the fountain of spiritual outpourings. Love is heaven’s kindly light, the Holy Spirit’s eternal breath that vivifieth the human soul. Love is the cause of God’s revelation unto man, the vital bond inherent, in accordance with the divine creation, in the realities of things. Love is the one means that ensureth true felicity both in this world and the next. Love is the light that guideth in darkness, the living link that uniteth God with man, that assureth the progress of every illumined soul. Love is the most great law that ruleth this mighty and heavenly cycle, the unique power that bindeth together the divers elements of this material world, the supreme magnetic force that directeth the movements of the spheres in the celestial realms. Love revealeth with unfailing and limitless power the mysteries latent in the universe. Love is the spirit of life unto the adorned body of mankind, the establisher of true civilization in this mortal world, and the shedder of imperishable glory upon every high-aiming race and nation. –

This movie is close to reality, when they’re on earth of course. Our planet is being scorched and food in the movie was becoming scorched by the extreme heat.

Note how the last crop of Okra ‘ever’ was being burned? That’s an actual thing. You really can over harvest crops to the point that they won’t grow.
Growing endless fields of corn is true as well. Native Americans cross bred corn to create what we have now. They done so just to feed the massive. This is before America was even discovered by Christopher Columbus.
Dust storms? An actual thing in real life. I lived in one place where even with the doors and windows shut there would still be a layer of red dirt inside the house.

This movie while still on earth is close to a reality in real life.
