Just a word of caution.. hot glue can damage moulds over time. It can melt and destroy the very fine details so be careful. I would never put hot glue into my expensive moulds..

Hiya!! Just found your site…and I’m HOOKED…so new subscriber here and looking forward to more videos from you!! QUESTIONS::: 1*I’ve been crafting a long time, but NEWBIE to using molds. On a EXTREMELY TIGHT budget due to covid-19. Cant afford the Prima molds. Can you suggest a less expensive <but high quality> brand? 2* Have you tried online sources like Wish or Ali Express? If so, what do you recommend? THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH🙋‍♀️😊

Great video! a tip to speed-up the drying – get it out of the mold and put it in the freeze for about 10-15 m. then let it dry in the open air. this way you can re-use the mold much more quickly.

Keren you did it again…I love love love your videos…excellent learning tool..l

  21. KathyN on April 28, 2021 at 4:42 pm

Great ideas. I like to also use several layers of wet toilet tissue, packed into the mold. It dries fairly quickly, is very lightweight, and can be painted with watercolors

  22. scottishcovenanter on April 28, 2021 at 4:42 pm

Could I ask what kind of paints to use that will stick to the hot glue one? Thank you.

  23. Kate Stew on April 28, 2021 at 4:42 pm

If I wanted to use the first amazon resin to make frames that would then be turned into magnets, does the plastic it creates feel sturdy enough to be a frame? or since it is easily cut do you think it would be easily broken in daily use? — Or what would you suggest would be the strongest material to use to make a tiny frame?

  27. Margaret Hart on April 28, 2021 at 4:49 pm

This was most informative. I missed the two mixtures – what is the name as I’d like to try this.

  28. Mecka Brignac on April 28, 2021 at 4:50 pm

I’m curious if there is a difference in hot glue sticks? I’m using some cheap ones from Walmart in my molds and my molds are coming out with missing parts as well as bubbles, is that normal? I wonder if it’s the cheap glue sticks?

  29. Amber Asif on April 28, 2021 at 4:51 pm

Wonderful video …. I thought resins were clear … This one is white?

  30. pamela audette on April 28, 2021 at 4:51 pm

This is a great tutorial Karen! Thank you so much! I wondered about what other products we could use in those molds.

  31. Jennifer Biskey on April 28, 2021 at 4:52 pm

Just last night I tried some gel medium in a mold. It is a heavy gel but it’s not called heavy gel, so it’s not as thick as the prima gel you used. But I used it along with an equal amount of a thicker modeling paste, mixed it together & put it in the mold. Great results! And it’s still flexible so if I want to use it on a curved surface I can do so. I want to try that resin you used, it looks amazing. And will try out the glue gun for sure. Thank you for sharing soma y wonderful ideas.

  32. Erika Brown on April 28, 2021 at 4:53 pm

    Thank you. Such great ideas

Disculpe. Usted demuestra, qué pasta se utiliza en el molde. Mi interrogante es : Es Molde especial ? O..en los Moldes se puede echar , Silicona Caliente ?… No lo derrite ? Gracias.

    Thanks very informative.

Hello Keren, great concepts. Regarding the resin. I am using a resin that dries clear but wish to use it on a round glass surface. Can one de-mold the resin while still soft and form it around a glass ball?

  36. LZRD84 on April 28, 2021 at 5:01 pm

Thank you Karen for sharing this with us. Invaluable info as I want to make some Christmas ornaments with molds I’ve just ordered online. It’s interesting to see just how many different products can be used with silicon molds. Be well.

    I have emoji silicon moulds

  41. susan greffard on April 28, 2021 at 5:06 pm

I’ve just been introduced to making my own embellishments with the Prima "Iron Orchid" silicone mold, but using the Mod Podge "high temp mini mod melts" (using a mini glue gun). However, love that you demonstrated using regular glue gun sticks (probably cheaper)! Thank you. Painting with acrylic (black) and using wax metallique rubs (antique silver, etc.) creates beautiful embellishments!
