Hanging string lights or rope lights on brick usually involves a drill, hot glue, or double sided tape which doesn’t stick well. I decided to try hanging lights using Sugru, a moldable glue that dries in 24 hrs, to hold a strand of rope lights on the brick on my front porch! I love how this DIY porch makeover for fall turned out!

I also found some worn out IKEA outdoor chairs from a salvage shop and refinished them with new pieces of cedar, stain, and a fresh coat of paint on the metal.

Watch how it all came together!

Nice. You could have put the a small ball of the glue behind the lights, so it won’t be seen 🙂

Love what you did with the chairs! Your porch really looks fresh and ready for fall. I’m getting my balcony ready for decorating but never seem satisfied with the outcome. Thank you for sharing your adventures!

I like it but I would have cut a cubbie out of the bushes for both chairs then placed ottom(s) in front and tall flowers back …surrounded by LED lights for a more intimate appeal. Have flowers floating from "home" to back of cubbie". Just a thought.

I would be interested in a follow up video on how long the sugru holds. I used it to patch up the top of my kids sandbox and it didn’t last a year.

Your house would look so good if you repainted your shutters black to match the front door.

About those chairs… don’t think of them as over priced think of them as doing your bit for charity and those less fortunate than you. Love the lights 😍

Great ideas! And presentation. I would love to see how the sugru weathers/lasts outdoors and how you remove it when that time comes. Saw you on the Impatient Gardener and know I’ll be a fan.

Once again, very useful Infro. I will look into for Sugra for a future project. Hopefully it is non toxic for indoor use. I’m thinking about running the rope light inside my closets. 👍🏽

The chairs look much more substantial and high end with the thicker wood. As usual, you did a great job.
