Easy DIY Room Divider Partition Wall for Privacy

In this video, learn how to make an inexpensive room divider fast! Since I’m making these for a video studio, I put a heavy felt fabric on one side to reduce reverb and kept the shiny silver material on the other for a handy light reflector. You can use interesting fabrics to turn your room divider into a design centerpiece. Lightweight and easy to maneuver, these temporary walls can be used to section off areas of a room for privacy, noise reduction or warmth. Each 4ft x 8ft panel costs about $50 and can be completed in about 30 minutes.

Great idea. I’m trying to separate out the family room as an office for myself, but the opening to the room is coming from a circular foyer, so putting in a door would look ugly. Going to try this out. Question: The ABS pipe comes in 2 ft lengths – did you cut it in half and use 1ft on both sides of the wall? Or did you use 2 2ft pipes? Thanks for your help.

How do you remove the piece from the pipe that you cut out and not snap the pipe in two? Once your saw makes those 2 cuts…how do you get that piece out…it’s still attached at the bottom…how do you make that small 1" cut?

Hey! This was very helpful. We used your advice, but after a week, the foam board is bending over more and more, and the tape is starting to fall off (we used black 3M duct tape). Any advice as to how I can keep it upright? The board is about 7 feet tall.. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Literally everything I was looking for and more, GENIUS!

  47. TNTPlays on December 13, 2020 at 10:53 pm

Definitely gonna use this for my gaming setup. Just gonna make the partitions without fabric and then acoustic panels on the temporary walls so basically it does what the fabric does. Even though I’m getting a 32 pack which is expensive. I’ll suck at doing the fabric things lol.

  48. Tei Branches on December 13, 2020 at 10:53 pm
