I think… This is the perfect answer to where gardening can be expensive & require a lot of space. You just need a few PVC pipes & a string/ cord to make this beautiful green wall. Don’t forget to turn CC on. There is English captions available.

  50. Cheryl Anderson on April 16, 2021 at 4:42 pm

These are really well designed, & would save people the hassle of trying to figure out how to grow vertically. We’ve all seen many attempts to do so. Many hang individual pots on a fence, which is interesting & practical, but clearly, this beats anything I’ve ever seen, of having that amount of planting area in a limited space, such as a vertical wall.
I’m also thinking that vertical gardening just might solve my problems with rabbits, chipmunks, squirrels & groundhogs – all of which might dig in & destroy my plants, or outright devour them.

The watering system is an excellent design as well. Watering the soil is far healthier for plants than overhead watering with a hand held hose & spray nozzle, which can bring about molds & mildew, plus would rot the wood a lot quicker, by getting water between the liner & the wood. The moisture meter won’t turn water on if it’s already wet from a good rain, & since mornings are the best time to water, now people won’t have to rush right out every morning to water, 1st thing. The system does it for us & he’s thought of using those plastic panels to direct water from the upper troughs to the lower ones.

My only caution would be to consider the strength of the wall or fence you might want to install this system or a do your own version, as having this much weight, especially after a good rain, might pull the fence panel down, & might damage the troughs and/or the irrigation system.

I also like that buying this system would be great way to give work to many who are out of work. It’s a beautiful way to create some privacy between neighbors, & as John said, it occurred to someone to use this system to set up an outdoor shower!!! I really want one of those!
